Dying Light: The Beast players can look forward to a new hotfix that’s planned to roll out next week. Similar to games like the recently released mega hit Hollow Knight: Silksong or Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage from a few years ago, Dying Light: The Beast began as DLC for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, but grew in size to become its own full game.
Introducing a new type of playground for players to parkour through, Dying Light: The Beast‘s Castor Woods is a dramatically different setting than the first two games’ towering cityscapes. The area does feature a city-like town that gives players that classic Dying Light verticality, but it’s uniquely surrounded by much flatter woods and farmland that offer a refreshing environment for the series. Dying Light: The Beast is considered a critical and commercial success with the game selling over one million copies in its first week, and some fans calling it the best in the decade-old franchise.
New Dying Light: The Beast Hotfix Coming Next Week
One week post-release, developer Techland has many patches and hotfixes planned for Dying Light: The Beast and one of them is on its way soon. On Twitter, Dying Light announced that The Beast is set to receive a new hotfix early next week that will largely focus on improving the game’s overall performance and the PC version’s frame generation. The tweet goes on to list Dying Light: The Beast quest progression issues and tweaks to zombie grabs as things that will also be addressed with this imminent hotfix.
While performance is important, as is clearing up progression-blocking bugs, the adjustment on Dying Light‘s list of improvements that stands out the most is the zombie grab balancing. In Dying Light: The Beast, players who get too close to a zombie will find themselves being latched on to, having to mash a button prompt to shove the zombie off of them. Some players have expressed that the window for being grabbed feels unfair, as it’s often difficult to prepare a charged attack while getting close enough to the target zombie without getting grabbed. Hopefully, this tweak will lead to less frustration for players who like to regularly use charge attacks, as a good number of Dying Light: The Beast‘s weapon mods are triggered with such attacks.
There may be even more Dying Light: The Beast issues addressed with this hotfix once the full notes are released as it goes live next week. Dying Light also mentioned in the tweet that it has even more hotfixes that are currently in the testing phase, so fans should keep an eye on the game’s social media to learn about future updates coming to The Beast down the road.
